What is your current business exposure?

Any company, globally, that has European clients and/or customer date, must be compliance under GDPR, which is the most comprehensive data protection law in the world. Oganizations are required to appoint a DPO if they; process personal data of individuals on a large scale; process sensitive personal data on a large scale; regularly and systematically monitor individual clients and/or customers who are European residents.

For US based companies, The United States does not have a federal law that is equivalent to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), but several states have implemented similar laws:

  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): This law applies to for-profit businesses that handle the data of California residents. The CCPA was inspired by the GDPR, but there are some key differences. For example, the CCPA does not require individuals to opt-in before businesses can collect data.

  • Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA): This law applies to Virginia.

  • Colorado Privacy Act (CPA): This law applies to Colorado.

  • Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA): This law applies to Utah.
